Ducks had a egg on our Pool!

My dear son yelled out, "Hey, mom...look out at the pool...there are ducks with their egg!"

So, I did go and look(with camera in hand of course!) and this is what we saw!






They flew off and left the egg! I told the kids to watch and see if the parents come back and they did 2 days later...papa was on guard duty!



Then they left and did not return. I felt so bad...poor ducky.

Computer weirdness...

Well, I have been off and on my pc for the past couple of days due to our computer is *acting up*!
It will work and then the Internet goes out!(we have DSL)
Of course, my boys think its time to upgrade and get FIOS.(cable)
So, if you are reading this and wondering thats what is up...so far its been on over an hour so thats good...maybe it just had a *bug* and is better now!

Whew, where has the time gone!?

Its almost May!
I have a list of things to do, but seem to be getting farther and farther behind...hoping I can catch up soon!

We had our first small group Bible Study last night at our home...two other couples and a single gal are joining us to do Purpose Driven, 40 Days of Community study by Rick Warren. Most of our church is participating in a small group throughout the week and then out Pastor Stan preaches on the topic. Our topic this week was "What Matters Most!"...Love, of course!( John 13:35, Galatians 5:6, ! Corinthians 14:1-13)
It will be wonderful to see what the Lord has in store as we study together and see, "What on earth are we here for?"

Yard work...

I don't like it! Well, I let my area to the pool get out out-of-hand at the end of last summer and now I am paying for it! So this is the befores:






These flowers were the only beautiful thing growing in spite of all the weeds, dead bushes and leaves!


So, we got a lot cleared and cleaned up...but then we have been pelted with rain off and on the past few weeks. I have been too busy to get back out there...but I have LOTS of mini mints I need to hand pull then we can lay down the black plastic sheeting and the mulch...hoping it will deter the mint! So, I need to get out there today...it gorgeous here, but the ground is still soaked from yesterdays rain...so, maybe tom'w??

April SU Club

After making these two cards I decided I needed to get the ink, refill and paper of this color... Baja Breeze. I heard they are going to discontinue it!!

He is twelve!

Our baby is 12 today! Up already and made pancakes for him!
Off to the ortho dentist with the 14yo...need to make a birthday card when I get home. We are having a *wee* surprise party for our birthday boy tonight.

Our Easter...He is Risen!

Every year we are invited to Mike and Diane's house for Easter...she always has a houseful of people! She is such an awesome cook...we all bring a dish-to-pass...she always cooks the most delicious ham, pork loin and roast!
Also every year(we have know them 18 years) she has the kids hunt Easter eggs...as long as there are kids who want to hunt for them! The dads hide them and then the kids get orders to find 6 hard boiled eggs and six plastic eggs!. My kids never cease to amaze me...they all decided to hunt!

My dear daughter and DS's GF made me the BEST Peanut Butter pie for my birthday pie!
It was yummy...I requested it for Mother's Day, too!

It was a lovely day spent with family and friends!

I made a card!!

I am in a swap at Cuppas and Cards and I am late with my card!
We were given images to use on a card and swap it out.(in this case it was a die cut sunflower)
I used my Copics to color my flowers and Club Scrap cs. Also used a Cuttle bug embossing folder..Friend. Added a bit of Stickles.Very simple, but I hope my CC friend will like it.

Our 26th!

It was our 26th anniversary...(yea, I know, hard to believe!) and Scott and I went up to our fave getaway city...Lancaster, PA! We love the Amish area and went to the same resort we went to last year, because they treated us so well. Its called Willow Valley and its actually our third time there thanks to dear church friends who invited us along with their family several years ago.

The resort knew it was our anniversary, so they upgraded our room to a executive suite with separate bedroom and sitting area with two 40 inch TVs!(and dropped the price from $130 to $99!) Plus, they gave us a buy one dinner get one free coupon AND we both got a free breakfast.
Now mind you we are in the Amish country...and the food is yummy! We got in a few long walks to walk off all we ate!! We got the kids some chocolate Whoopie pies!(and NO, none for me!)

It was a lovely time to just get away from the mundane everyday things for 24 hrs...and this is the only photo I got on our way to leave to come home. It poured rain or I would have got a photo outside!
BTW...I LOVE my hubby! He is the BEST husband and father to our children.
I am a blessed woman.

Guess who I got to take a class with....

Cheryl Darrow, from Ten Second Studio, blew into Maryland to do a class at Queen's Ink!
I signed up and Weds evening I gathered with about 20 other ladies to *learn* some tips from Cheryl and how to work with metal embossing.

She was an awesome teacher and I so enjoyed the class! (and yes...I bought some TSS molds and metal!)
