Cricut Circle Weekly Challenge #2-Think Pink

In honor of Breast Cancer Awareness, the Cricut Circle blog challenge was to make a project using one of these three: Use Pink, Ruffles, Scallops, Flourishes, Glitter and Jewels...I chose pink, flourishes, glitter and jewels!

I used the Cricut carts: George and Basic Shapes to make a flower top and the *sign* is from Graphically Speaking. Topped the flourish and flower Sizzix embossing folder with Glitter pen and pearls. I used my Gypsy to weld circles and a square to make the flower top!

Very important to *Handle With Care* and get your screening done..I did just this month!

Lovely day in Virginia, After All!

DH decided to take us down to Virgina for the day after careful planning for over a week or two(he is so good at planning day trips!) The two younger sons and DH and I piled into the van ready for our adventure. Unfortunately, the van decided NOT to start. DEAD battery, so we called DD who was in class and left a message to come home between classes. She got home...we went and got a new battery. DH put it in with DS's help and off we went down to VA!

Driving along 495 to Rt 66 we hit a traffic accident snarl and was in bumper to bumper for almost an hour. Had we been earlier, who knows we may have been one of the two vans that were involved with the traffic trailer. So we got pass that accident, when DH noted the tire pressure light came on...we were about 18 miles from our destination. We decided to try and get to the exit...we made it and what should we spy-with-our-little-eyes...but a WalMart! The tire dept looked at the tires and said they saw no problems...light was off!

Here are a few photos off the road as we traveled:

Famished we hit the Cracker Barrel that was located 2 minutes from the WM and had a yummy lunch. Then we headed to the Skyline Caverns...and finally got there around 3pm. We toured the Caverns had a wonderful time. The only thing we were aloud to touch in the cavern and the boys with our tour guide...he was really good! Interesting fact...Bing Crosby visited these same caverns in 1950.

Ready to head home, we got on Rt 66 to head back and were flying along when we hit another accident, which we got past and then hit another patch of road work! We got off(thanks to DH bringing a VA map) and cruised along a road that ran parallel to Rt. 66! We could see the road...so when we saw when the road work stopped and traffic was flowing freely, we then got back on Rt. 66...what a blessing that was. We made it home in time to drop off the boys for a church activity! DH and I got home where our DD had dinner made for us!

Whew, it was a tiring day, we all were in bed by 9pm! So, glad we got out instead of cooped up inside the house playing on the PC...thanks to my dear DH.

What have I been up to...

...learning how to do loom knitting

Found these looms at M's and bought with a 40% off coupon, of course. Never quite got the hang of knitting with needles...but the looms seems to be easier for me! AND I finished it in a few hours. This is for a friend's baby.
